Description

At 2,005 meters above sea level in the hills of Santa María, you’ll find Finca Costa Rica—a 10-hectare farm managed by Faver Ninco and his family. Nearly 20,000 coffee trees grow here, including Caturra, Pink Bourbon, Geisha, Papayo, and Java—each selected and cultivated with care. Faver has been growing coffee for 25 years, learning from his father and older farmers in the region. About six years ago, he began exploring new varieties and techniques, shifting his focus toward specialty coffee. Today, all four of his children work alongside him, each managing their own trees and contributing to the family’s evolving project. The farm also includes banana and avocado trees, vegetables for household use, and a 1.5-hectare forest reserve the family actively protects. They’re committed to preserving the natural springs and wildlife that thrive on their land. The next generation is already taking the lead. Faver’s youngest daughter, Liliam Camila, now heads The Coffee Quest’s buying station in Santa María. At 22, she cups every lot that comes through—ensuring it meets the quality standards her family is known for. We've purchased Pink Bourbon from Faver several times in the past but this is our first chance to try his Gesha!
